Emerging as a fully formed enigma from her native New Zealand, Lorde tapped into an untouched well of alienation, becoming the poster child for a generation who found refuge from the eternal excess of the 2010s by submerging themselves in moody art. "Royals," the hit single that made her an international phenomenon, became a genuine sensation, topping the charts in country after country and being covered by elder statesman like Bruce Springsteen and Jack White, a move that functioned a bit as a benediction. Lorde didn't need their blessing, though.

The singer / songwriter struck a chord, functioning as the dark corollary to the bright, happy pop of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, thereby becoming an icon for teenagers who felt older than their years.

Born Ella Yelich-O'Connor on November 7, 1996 in Takapuna, New Zealand, Lorde delved into art at an early age. By the time she was entering adolescence, she started performing as a duo with her friend Louis McDonald, winning a talent contest at Belmont Intermediate School in May 2009. Soon, the pair were featured on the Radio New Zealand's Afternoons show hosted by Jim Mora and. on the strength of this performance and tape McDonald's father sent to Universal, the record label signed a development deal for Lorde. Throughout 2010, she continued to attend school and perform with mcDonald, but in 2011 is when things started to turn a little more serious. Universal teamed the signer with vocal coach Frances Dickinson and started to write originals, often with the assistance of other songwriters, but nothing clicked until her A&R head Scott MacLachlan introduced her to Joel Little. The former lead singer of Goodnight Nurse, Little proved a good collaborator for the fledgling singer/songwriter and the pair recorded the Love Club EP, which appeared on SoundCloud in November 2012.

Love Club swiftly earned an audience, so Universal released it commercially in March 2013; it peaked at two on the New Zealand and Australia charts. The reason for its immediate success was "Royals," which was spun off as a single in the summer of 2013 and soon swept across the globe, where it topped the charts in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, and Italy, and reached the Top Ten in most other Western countries. Her full-length debut, Pure Heroine, follower in September 2013 and it also became an international smash, earning triple-platinum certification in the U.S., quintuple platinum certification in New Zealand, and gold in the U'K. Further singles followed -- "Tennis Court" and "Team," the latter of which turned into a Top Ten hit in the U.S. -- and Lorde worked Pure Heroine into 2014, touring and headlining many festivals around the world. "Yellow Flicker Beat," a song from the soundtrack of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1 followed in September of 2014.

Lorde next turned her attention to writing and recording for her second album, which took nearly two years to materialize. Once she began collaborating with Jack Antonoff of Fun. and Bleachers in 2016, the album took shape. "Green Light," the first single from her sophomore set, appeared in March 2017, with the full-length Melodrama following in June. In 2018. Lorde toured worldwide with Run the Jewels, Tove Styrke, and Mitski. In conjunction with the tour, Run the Jewels released a remix of her song "Supercut".

English singer/songwriter Jessie J combines deep, soulful vocals, a sharp pop sense, and a down-to-earth manner that recalls Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, and P!nk. She issued a trio of U.K. Top Five albums -- Who You Are, Alive, and Sweet Talker -- in the early 2010s, while also recording chart-topping singles "Price Tag," "Domino," "Bang Bang," and her cover of "Bridge Over Troubled Water."

Born Jessica Cornish in Chadwell Heath, London in 1988, she started her career at the age of 11, performing in the West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind. After studying musical theater at the prestigious BRITS School, she signed a deal with indue label Gut Records, which went bankrupt before releasing any of her music. After building an established presence, she signed to LAVA/Republic Records and began working with Dr. Luke, Atlanta rapper B.o.B, and R&B producer Labyrinth releasing her debut album Who You Are & follow up Alive.

Sweet Talker arrived in October 2014, reaching the Top 10 in the U.S. and U.K. She issued a handful on new singles in 2017, including "Real Deal" and "Queen," which were slated to appear on a planned 2018 LP. Returning to her music, she issued the four-part R.O.S.E album, which arrived in EP-sized chunks over the course of four days in May 2018. Split into R (Realisations), O (Obsessions), S (Sex), and E (Empowerment), the set was produced by DJ Camper. She capped off her busy 2018 with the release of the holiday album The Christmas Day.

Kaeto is not the new anyone. There are no immediate reference points; no pop stars to stick her alongside. She’s an anomaly. It was back in 2019 that Kaeto first entered the studio with outside producers and began building a sound that would be all her own, but the route she’s taken since is a mark of her maverick and inventive approach to music. One such diversion was enrolling in Clown School, a move designed to throw herself into something creative and spontaneous and shake off the mundanity of modern life. It's why Kaeto’s music has such a free-spirited, loose-limbed sense of adventure about it. “I’m so unashamed of myself,” she says, “but music is where I go to explore these things.”

Every ending sparks a new beginning. Return To Dust embodies the sound of shedding the weight of the past while embracing the promise of tomorrow. The Los Angeles-based quartet—Matty Bielawski [guitar, vocals], Graham Stanush [bass, vocals], Sebastian Gonzalez [guitar], and London Hudson [drums]— brings a fresh perspective to alternative rock. Their music fuses powerful harmonies, fuzz-laden riffs, and seismic grooves, fueled by the raw energy of four Gen Z friends jamming in a garage. What may seem like a traditional approach on paper feels like an act of rebellion today, rippling towards a real turn of the tide. As the story goes, the band settled in Los Angeles to record with producer Jim Kaufman [Everclear, Danny Worsnop, Night Riots, Helmet]. 2024 saw them unveil their independent self-titled full-length debut, Return To Dust, featuring single “Belly Up” which surged online, organically gathering over 2 million Spotify streams. Distorted Sound hailed it as “a grungy, punky thrill ride,” while Revolver applauded the group’s “Alice In Chains-inspired form of modern-day grunge.” In the aftermath, they lit up the stages at major festivals like Inkarceration, Welcome To Rockville, and Sonic Temple, while also joining rock legends Chevelle and Sevendust as support on their respective tours. Signing to LAVA Records/Republic Records with more music on the horizon, the group is poised to stand at the forefront of the next generation of rock music.

The Los Angeles-based band— Nick Anderson [vocals, guitar, keyboard, production], Nicholas “Schmizz” Schmidt [lead guitar], Aaron Kelley [bass], and William “Billy” Nally [drums]—helm every facet of their vision, writing, producing, and cooking up a homegrown signature sound without comparison. As such, the quartet deliver an insanely immersive experience for their diehard audience at shows, within songs, and even on social media. Due to this response, they have sold tens of thousands of tickets and independently stacked up nearly 300 million total streams across songs like “Favorite Liar,” “Fvck Somebody,” and “Freaking Out” as well as two full-length offerings Infinitely Ordinary [2020] and Sonder [2022]. Ones To Watch went as far as to proclaim, “The Wrecks should be your new favorite alternative rock band.”

In 2024, the band signed with Lava/Republic Records opening an exciting new chapter. The Warning draw strength and power from a lifetime of sisterhood and music. The Mexico-born sister trio—Daniela “Dany” [guitar, lead vocals, piano], Paulina “Pau” [drums, vocals, piano], and Alejandra “Ale” Villarreal [bass, piano, backing vocals]—have logged thousands of miles on the road, generated hundreds of millions of streams, and left countless fans in awe. All of this tireless work and dedication has shaped and sharpened their sound with knifepoint precision, arming alternative anthems with universally catchy hooks and an uncompromising hard rock kick. The girls have devoted themselves to a shared dream since their childhood in Monterrey, Mexico. They initially made waves with a string of independent releases, paving the way for their acclaimed 2022 full-length offering ERROR.
